i use 512kbps 2 Gb limit plan and this keeps hanging while i surf, then i have to restart the router manually.....are you also experiencing same problems??wt is the soln. to this?

report airtel and change the modem. one of my friend had same problem :redface: just replace it.

yeap. this is the kind of problem that should be reported to airtel customer support.

do they change it for free?

Yup...just be a bit offensive...it really works...i did the same:happy:

if the modem is 220Bx1 or 110BX1go to maintenance and disable tr_069 client and snmp options Or in DSL page uncheck adsl2+.Modem replacement is not a big problem for Airtel.as you had given NON refundable security amount Rs 500/ or Rs 1000/=

yea. i am not sure if they would replace it for free if you 'bought' the modem from them. but modem or wiring replacement has never been an issue with airtel. they are more than happy to do that.

this was one of the reasons i went with airtel IPTV as they treat the STB of IPTV as the modem. and it is all covered by them as long as i am a paying IPTV customer. i am not sure however if they would replace the remote too if i break it :P

@essbebe
Thank you very much for this solution. Never thought this might be the problem for my frequent disconnects & reconnects.

Switched on the modems logs (available at 192.168.1.1/main.html), and noticed that dropping of the line was happening from the modem only. After disabling the tr_069 client, there were no drops in the connection, although the modem logs keep mentioning an "Alert" which says "Kernel Intrusion...". I hope that's not a cause for concern.

Thanks again.
