got this mail again. last line states: transition hassle free...they do not apparently mention that the transition costs Rs. 300 (from what i have seen).

i like the subject to availability clause- Airtel broadband is not available anywhere, at least in Mumbai!!! It would be acceptable if I lived in some suburban area but I live in the heart of south bombayand after what I'm seeing on this forum in relation to airtel , I am coming to the conclusion that Airtel indeed sucks and doesn't understand the meaning of "unlimited"for petes sake airtel,,Don't call an a 5gb limited, plan an unlimited one!! :notallowed:

well i would be shifting back to delhi in a couple of months..how is this whole transition thing different from simply giving them a call and telling them to shift my connection?

Its not different

Just like they are advertising the airtel.in portal as having "Unlimited benefits"

It is seamless as they claim. You will have connection in old place till you move out...and when you move in to your new place it will already be connected.

i do not doubt that it works. but they tend to mess up. the last time i shifted... i specifically asked airtel people to call me before sending their people at the new place. i had rented the new apartment and since i had not shifted, no one was at the new place. i wanted to shift after the connection was transfered. for 2 days i waited for their call. when i finally got through to customer care, i was told that the transfer people could not find anyone at the new place so the wiring was not done. i was like WTF. i asked them again emphasizing on CALLING me before sending their peoples. no use. i then had to mail the senior guys at airtel. and that worked out magical. everything was done in one evening. and i shifted the next day.

Yeah... asking an ISP in India to put notes on your customer file is like sticking your head in a guillotine with an escaped mental patient holding the rope.

I had such a problem once on my friends Hathway connection about 8 months ago.

FTR, our CS support system supports notes and tons of other info, so I plan on ensuring it gets used.
