It will give you 150GB instead of 30GB, though at an increased priceIt will start a written chain of events, independant of the mess created by Airtel over the previous year.I'm assuming your primary aim is to get decent limits on your broadband

Yeah, but well Airtel is allowed to change the plan after 6 months

They never used this provision earlier but have started doing it now

If this is true they can be held liable if they don't change your plan when the price comes down. When I asked them why they kept on charging me Rs.2222 when the same plan was available for Rs. 1699 to new customers, they told me they cannot change a plan without the customer's consent.

If they now have a provision saying they can change a plan without informing me, then it is their duty to reduce the cost in my next bill if they change the plan to Rs.1699.

I wonder why these Jethmalanis are busy protecting murderers when it would be far more lucrative for them to go after such unethical practices among corporates.

I wonder if customers who are lawyers have problems with Airtel...

watching a lot of american legal shows i suppose? indian courts do not give huge penalties in consumer rights related cases. in fact, customers would be lucky to get enough money to pay for legal costs.

The retention officer called me. I presumed there would be a solution... but no... it didn't happen

Trust me, you DO NOT want help from the retention department

They SHOULD reduce the plan costs, but are not REQUIRED toTheres a difference
They will be required to, if taken to court. Of course, none of us have the balls to do that considering the Indian legal system. But that's another story. But if even you think they are legally not required to, then no wonder we are in the shape we are in...

How many times must I tell you that I am willing to pay the extra price but every time I try they tell me it isn't feasible in my area??? And they do this after 2 different people promise me it will be done this time sir, of course it is available in your area sir, you are near IIT... and so on.

Do you work for Airtel?

Nope

Just try this https://broadband.forum/airtel-broadband/75468-airtel-broadband-one-year-inability/2/#post591985

Give it another week where you have spent a year

Try WHAT? What do you think I have not tried? I even did what you said earlier. Asked for a higher plan at higher cost with no reference to my earlier complaints>

Yes sir. Sure sir. Your plan will be changed in the next cycle sir. You will get the new plan sir (September, 2011)

Sorry sir, but this is not feasible in you area sir. We don't know how they can tell you it is feasible sir, but it was not me who told you it was feasible. (November 2011)

This has happened thrice now. Once when I asked, once based on my complaint and once when the retention officer promised me

Also, when I question them as to how I am getting 2Mbps when according to them my plan is 1Mbps, they insist that according to their records I am on a 1 Mbps plan. Then when I say according to my plan the FUP is 100GB, then they say No sire, that plan has changed.

And if I do a speedtest I do get 2Mbps.

Considering that the slowest plan available in the NCR region is 2mbps as of now, try asking them which plans ARE available for you at this time
