Firmwares

Try in Search Box above : Old threads Firmware update for Beetel 220Bx

Had the same problem with mine. Tried getting hold of old firmwares, but no use. Now using it in bridge mode without problems

Well, Airtel did it again this morning, the information stored in the beetel modem was gone and we became yet again "newusers"

Had to reset again according to configurations in the 3rd post on this thread

http://59.144.47.27/Firmwares/Beetel%20220Bx%20New%20Firmware/Beetel%20Combo%20Firmware/T2H-0Q-001.img

Difficult to say which FW img will result in version 3.06 etc.

Can you clarify how you can make sure of the FW upgrade

Additional reference :
TECHTEMPER: Beetel 220BX1 - New Firmware Disables USB

First: I can't confirm that they even messed with the firmware. The fact that the same thing has now happened again makes me even more suspisous, why would they reset it twice? (once on sat and once today-wednesday)

Second: I was reading through your reference material and came up with this: Please note the text in bold:

"During service, the airtel engineer updated the firmware without my consent. When i asked him about the changes in the new firmware he replied that there is nothing new except the USB will be disabled. On asking further,he explained the USB caused frequent corruption of the modem settings.I told him to replace the modem with a new one.I destroyed my modem while downgrading the firmware. You wont be able to downgrade from v3.12L."

I have downloaded from one of the link-removed sites you gave (the first one, I believe) but now I don't want to take the chance and install it.

Also...as said...I do share this network with 6-10 computers at any given time (work) so I can't experiment with the set up. I need to know that what I am doing will not cause any adverse affects before hand.

I have also checked out the port forwarding sites recommended for the beetel. Didn't really find anything helpful though. I have it all set up correctly.
Beetel: forwarding my port to wifi 192.168.2.1
Wifi: forwarding same port to comp static IP
Worked before -- now nothing.

Thanks for all the help so far everyone!

Why not enable DMZ for the Wireless router's ip in the 220BXI. You'll still have the router's firewall for security.

T2R-0Q-001 will result in 3.06L but can't find it anywhere.

Still didn't work. :(Went to "DMZ Host" and entered Wireless IP address 192.168.2.1 - nothing - port is still closed it is saying. I tried with a couple different ports.I read that this is maybe not the best way (using DMZ) to do things for some security reasons, could you confirm or deny?Wireless Security Settings BTW:Wireless firewall settings:SPI Firewall - EnabledInternet Filter:Filter Anonymous Internet Requests - EnabledFilter Multicast-uncheckedFilter Internet NAT Redirection-uncheckedFilter IDENT (port 113) - EnabledWeb Filter:Proxy-uncheckedJava-uncheckedActiveX-uncheckedCookies-uncheckedVPN Passthrough:IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP all enabled

Um, you entered the wrong ip. You gotta enter the lan ip assigned to the wifi router by the 220BXI which is 192.168.1.2, so try that one and see if it works(make sure the program using the port is running when ur checking the port). Maybe that's why the port forwarding didn't work either. This is an example of what ur port forwarding rule should look like:

Yes, DMZ mode will open up all the ports(of the 220BXI) but since ur machines are behind a wifi router as well, its firewall will still provide security.

The only difference now is, 220BXI will forward all traffic to the Linksys, which will then forward selected traffic to ur comp depending on the port forwarding rules you create in the linksys.

@waterloo_sunset. from Post No 7.
If anyone is using 220BXI with 3.06L, plz open http://192.168.1.1/look.html and post the firmware filename (should be something with the format T2H-0Q-001, might not be exactly that).

A very good tip. added reps.
many thanks.
This version has DDNS option also.
