Airtel Broadband speed boost

yes Ajay is correct.it's mostly like luck.i have UL plan. continuously i was downloading a 4.3GB file for 3 days and i didn't find a boost but at the 3rd day before finishing.luckly i got the speed.so you won't be knowing when and where it's happening.

Why all this nonsensing about speeds.....I experienced 20 mbps speeds at my college and it is superb...But ofcourse you cant expect the same at home can you..so be happy with what u get..enjoy the power of the internetBy the way how does one see this airtel backroom

I would like to make a point. I have 512UL and use bridge mode and get boosted speed of 2 mbps for few minutes or more whenever I disconnect and connect again. This is happening since last 2 months. But I would like to share my observation. I am a heavy downloader and my pc is almost on every moment I am at home. I observed that this speed boost does not happen everytime I disconnect and reconnect. It only happens in time roughly between morning 7AM - 1PM and night 7PM-1AM.These timings are approximate + - 30mins. Barring these periods, no matter how much I disconnect and reconnect I get only 512 flat.Sometimes the boost is for 1 min, sometimes for 5 min or 15 min or half and hour also. Once I got the boost for whole day also. This shows that since last 2 months, some R&D are going on at Airtel and at the end we are benefitted. For @AjayJP , the speeds you refer i.e 2560Kbps/1024Kbps is the maximum link speed limit that your line can transfer data downwards/upwards. It is given by DSLAM whenever your modem gets the link from it. Its always the same for each and every connection no matter its 128, 256, 512 until 2560Kbps. The capping is not done by DSLAM. Different hardware devices are used such as packetshaper or NetEqualizer for badwidth shaping and allocation.

@firearm12 and i agree with ur point tat v would get speed boost on the time mentioned on ur post:yahoo: and no one could get a speed boost in rest of the timings :(i do have experienced a speed boost by these timings only:)

@srinitheultimateI am sure its because of their BOD/SOD service. There is something Airtel is not able to fix. Lets just hope that the Airtel guys are not able to fix this for ever. :)
