Is this tariff hike not applicable for new subscribers? So far i've not got any SMS, i'm on 1099 plan(4Mbps/10GB)... Just 2 months back i got the connection.

i don't see why it would not be applicable on new subscribers or future customers. sadly, their tariff pages are a mess currently. and they have definitely not updated the pdf format.

on the second page of the bill under customer information, point 3 states "no increase is permissible in any item of the tariff for a period of 6 months from the date of enrollment under a plan (barring ISD tariff) & no charge will be levied for any service without your explicit consent. airtel reserves its right to revise the terms and conditions applicable to tariff plans from time to time."

lol. good luck with that. you might be able to keep your current tariff for four more months i guess (best case scenario).

I got this SMS today from Airtel. :-(

Namaste! Due to regulatory changes and increased input costs, monthly rental for your airtel broadband ID 0124xxxxxxx_dsl has been marginally revised from Rs 999 to Rs 1050 w.e.f 11-Aug-12, Details? visit www.airtel.in/dsl-faq

I still haven't received any email or sms from airtel yet. But sooner or later they will increase the price. So I am thinking of sending an sms to airtel:due to regulatory changes u are burdened with lot of network costs so I want to voluntarily pay 150 rupees extra per month to share ur burden

You call up Airtel customer care to complain about wrong billing, and they put you on hold with tune "jo tera hai woh mera hai"
@fakingnews

Lol. I went through the same yesterday. Had not received this month's bill till yesterday for which the Due Date is 15th of every month. Didn't want to end up paying the late fee so blasted the CC especially after hearing this jingle and told him that ur already considering customers money yours and told him the jingle. Poor fella didn't know how to react.

I got a discount for 3 months.They will waive off the increase for 3 months.
