I was curious to know the type of connection airtel offers. I confirmed this from an airtel engineer that all the LCO based cities are deriving bandwidth from towers based at different locations of the city, or a main tower of airtel which can serve whole city. But the segment where our fiber is attached to DP box along with other connections is shared among all those users or it is solely unshared? If the other people connected to same DP box as of mine are downloading stuff at their max speed, will it make a difference in my download speed?

Please explain this in simple terms if someone can. Thanks!

When i migrated to fiber then at that time there was only 1 or 2 connections on the box and speeds were great all the time.

now that all dps are full and everybody downloads like crazy, airtel local engineer said that my area is running at full capacity and i can get slower speeds any time depending on load from customers.

so yes connection is shared.

@Rickysin there goes a single fiber to the tower which is connected to the 1 dp right? What if the fiber is exhausted to its max and thats why you are getting low speeds.

@Chip so for sure my speeds are going to get affected if all other users connected to my dp box are using their max speed of the plan?

geekyranjit today posted a video of real world stress test of 1 gbps airtel connection. Go check it out.
It is one of the rarest stress test ever done by a youtuber. History has been created and it might become milestone stress testing parameter.

p.s. just kidding. That was the worst test ever as it was a paid advertisement of airtel on his channel. I told you guys that airtel sent a review unit to him as no one was able to get that 1 gbps router

Well even i trusted him but this new video of airtel 1 gbps review is very baised and looks fully paid by airtel. When he did speedtest over ethernet the speed was just 500-600mbps which is very low as per the plan.
its not even 80% of guaranteed speed. When i had netplus ftth they provided full 950mbps speed when i tested it 2 years back.

So... how is it different from i.e. Excitel, TriplePlay etc. ; local ISP's..... any distinct advantage with Airtel Fiber?
