Airtel migrating me to a new plan without intimation with less data but more speed on Xstream Fiber Broadband

Airtel Fiber 200 Mbps
Hi, I had applied for 999/- plan in January 2019. It was a 100Mbps/500GB Fiber plan. Recently I noticed I was getting 200Mbps speed. I even checked my Airtel App, and my plan is shown as 999/- 525GB - 200Mbps. I was elated.

But, then I checked Airtel's website for current FTTH plans for my City(Bhopal). Their 999/- plan says 200Mbps but ONLY 300GB data. Now I'm a bit apprehensive. Is it possible they are slowly migrating me to their new 999/- plan? Like this month they increased the speed to 200Mbps, from next month onwards they reduce my data cap to 300GB?

First of all, can they legally do that? Reduce the datacap even though when I applied for this plan it was 500GB? My monthly usage on average is about 380-420GB so 300GB will definitely not cut it and the only other Fiber ISP available here is BSNL(ouch).

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any idea what can I (legally) do in case they reduce my datacap?

Thank you :)

You can legally pay for the 249 topup to boost your FUP to 3.3 TB :D

If Airtel says your plan is 525 GB 200 Mbps then they’ve upgraded you for free. Airtel isn’t really an unethical company in that respect.

^ Correct. Airtel is much better than any other ISP/Provider according to me. They have a very open hierarchy support too.

I think they do inform before changing? SMS or email or atleast it would be in the bill, which many of us may not see.

^ They will inform you of the change, but they won't ask you prior if the price of the plan remains same.

Recently, they increased the Data Allowance for 799 Plan so they did SMS me about it.

But if they want to move me to higher plan, their sales team will call me. They cannot do it themselves.

Any how, I would recommend you 799 + 299 would make much better sense compared to 999.

Update: Seems like it's going better instead. Now it shows "unlimited" in the data column for me at 200Mbps. I think it means about 3.3TB right? In any case, looks like Airtel is going in the right direction :)

What is your data limit / FUP on my airtel app & on the actual bill ?

Shows unlimited on the app, but it says April bill not yet generated. March bill is showing 525GB data.
