Airtel Mobile: Mobile office speed?

what speed of mobile office are you getting? i am getting a speed of 12-15 kBps in west bengal. i just to confirm weather it is normal to airtel or not. because SMART (reliance gsm) is giving a speed of 25-30 kBps. Virgine mobile is giving 20-25 kBps.

Depending on how close or far you are from a tower, speed will vary.

On an average, you get 64-80 kbps. (8-10 kBps). Enough speed to check e-mail etc. Don't even think of downloading anything over 1MB.

I m getting 80~90 kbps normally, I remember I had downloaded with 27 kBps in past(27 kBps= 216 kbps)I m from mumbai, I was using Nokia 6280!

i get a speed of 18-24kB at home but it drops down to 8-10kB (even lower) on my way to work.on my N82 which is EDGE class 32.

The speeds have drastically reduced after airtel network fell. I used to get around 18-20K/sec most of the time, now its more like 8-15 and varies quite a bit.

i see that the speed greatly varies with the location, i remember getting around 20 KBps on my old Airtel connection, not with Airtel anymore though & i think almost the same speeds on Vodafone aswell but have not checked it live but it's good enough for browsing but downloads can be painfully long
