Airtel replaced my ONT and now suddenly they're claiming I've exhausted my data cap

Respectfully @vpsj only sane thing left to do is lodge a proper complaint with your broadband ID / customer ID on PG PORTAL . This same matter has happened with my aunt last year. Just lodge the complaint and mind you despite being govt portal this PG PORTAL works swift and hands down the brutal judgement, a satisfactory watch on broadband and telcos. To tell you about a win, last year within 2 days Aunt got her internet restored along with 2 months free internet from Airtel as compensation for this misleading story.

Airtel can go to hell.

I just had a call with their rep. These scammers locked the router and enabled only ipv4. I asked to enable ipv6, now they are asking to buy static IP. I had to explain there is no need for static IP to get ipv6 and even told the difference. It was like talking to a tree.

To whom can I escalate?

Confusing.
Other forums have people claiming that airtel has ipv6 and did provide them only after complaining.
BTW I am not asking for "static" ipv6. I am asking airtel for basic ipv6 functionality that is like common-sense in 2025, I can manage with dynamic ipv6 as long as it's not behind NAT, makes no sense for ipv6 to be behind NAT anyway.

@vpsj mail is not getting delivered to appellate email ID, saying their mailbox is full - Airtel Broadband Appellate, Airtel Fixed Line Appellate, Airtel Broadband Fixed Line Appellate

Your link gives a different one, I will forward to that, thanks.

@jonoldman let me clear again.
since airtel asked you to get static ip to enable ipv6, but that is lie.
because if you opted for static ip, then only ipv4 you will get.
airtel does nor provide ipv6 when you are using static ip.
so when airtel agent call again tell them you guys dont give ipv6 in static ip, so why you're forcing me to rent static ip. ipv6 works only with airtel when a customer use default connection. and i am sure bridge mode also have nothing to do with ipv6.
other can confirm on that.

They just called and said they have enabled ipv6, turns out strong email complaining to proper channel works.

Now that I checked my crippleware TI2122A router, it has a dumb firewall. Firewall settings are Hi/med/low, WTH does that even mean! And I just found the router has ipv6 delegation disabled, so no subnetting for me. Looks like all that hurdles I just had to bypass static IP was wasted(?).

Maybe there is a workaround, I am just getting started in this homelabbing thing. Anyways, I'm sorry changing the topic of the conversation.

I hope your problem gets resolved @vpsj

@jonoldman You should use your own router, specially with ipv6 you could be exposing your whole network. You can ask them to enable bridge mode for NAT issues.

Your own router offers a lot more control with one time investment.

@jonoldman

I suppose TI2122A is Genexis (GX) Titanium 2122A ONT provided by Airtel.

I also had issue with IPv6 on this ONT. I requested my local LCO who handles the Airtel Fiber Prepaid connection to change the ONT. After tlaking to the backend team he replaced it with Dasan H660GM-A and IPv6 is working fine for me.

I DO NOT have either Static IPv4 or Bridge Mode enabled.
