Airtel Vs Jio fiber router

Which company provides better router in terms of wifi coverage, feature like usb for network and control.

Control means allowing to easily change DNS, do port forwarding etc.

Both Airtel and Jio supply shitty ONTs. If you want good performance you have to get your own personal router anyway.

@rajat_ With Airtel, I think you also have option to use Bridge mode, right? It makes the experience better if you want to use your own router, especially for those who play multiplayer games like COD, GTA Online etc. where having double NAT can cause issues.

Bridge mode is also possible with Jio. But you need your own ONU like TP-Link XZ000-G3 V1 and know / extract your "TRUE" GPON SN by using some tools.

I just need decent wifi coverage and don't want my router emitting 10 unknown wifi ssid like jio does.


Opted for Airtel let's see how it goes.

My needs are mainly office stuff and basic personal streaming use. No multiplayer gaming.

@Smh I don't have that issue with Jio router. It only shows two networks, if I have enabled them.

@Zuke Bridge mode is possible only on the Sercomm ONT by default. For other ONTs(Nokia, ZyXEL etc.) one has to ask Airtel to enable bridge mode which is a tedious process. Airtel's Customer Care and NOC will give more headache than double NAT .

@Smh jio doesn't broadcast unknown SSID anymore. It stopped like 2 years ago for me.

I dont know why someone who has not used ZyXEL claims bridge mode without talking to Airtel NOC cant be enabled.
Please stop spreading wrong information.
Whoever wants to enable bridge mode in ZyXEL, can dm me, its a child's play.
