Airtel Xstream Box and Wifi Router Kolkata

i recently moved to a new place and was looking for a wifi and dth connection saw that airtel is giving dth and wifi with 599 and 699 plan which includes 350 channel where HD channels are included .

So my query is the airtels DTH good or should i use other DTH provider.

Main Concerns:-

1. the picture quality
2. any issue in rainy season
3. is their STB fast or lags

Regarding the wifi:-

1. how is ping in games like BGMI,VALORANT, CALL OF DUTY Mobile
2. is dns working if i use it in router setting
3. which router is good

Regarding your main concerns-

1. The STB supports Dolby formats for both audio and video. The picture quality is quite nice but I did have to tweak the settings to get a satisfactory output.
2. No major issues. Coimbatore has received quite some rain this year and we have 2 connections in different places in the city and we did not have heavy signal loses during rains.
3. Compared to a native Android TV, the STB performance is not that fast but it's responsive enough. Not great but not bad either.

Regarding the WiFi-

1. Consistent 20 - 40ms ping on BGMI. Generally quite acceptable pings for mobile games.
2. Yes custom DNS can be set and used without issues.
3. Router depends on the stock available in your place. Airtel gives out the either the Nokia, Sercomm or Titanium GX series. Maybe even Dasan. Nokia is the best out of these.

@TJ10 What tweaks for you make the improve the picture quality? I have the Xstream STB, and even for HD channels the quality isn’t that great IMO.

@Sky21 The tweaks are 2 part.
1 part is on the STB:
Go into Settings > Android Settings > Device Preferences > Advance options > Display

1. Set Resolution to the max refresh rate allowed
2. Since my TV is 1080P and the STB outputs 4K, I had to increase sharpness too 100% for that sharp, crisp picture output.

2nd part is on the TV itself and this you need to set up the panel to your tastes. On my TV I had to increase the panel sharpness and contrast levels and adjust the saturation levels.
