Save money and double your budget to 8K for Shure ones, life would never be the same with MMCX cables

MMCX port support in headphones add versatility, you can change them for AUX Input, Wifi and Bluetooth Input ( just have to buy different MMCX cables, expensive on short run but damn cheaper on long run)

they are long lasting, high quality , they might lack on bass frontg as they aim for studio-reproduction/transparency so you might have to EQ

@varkey
Sorry about bugging you again but I wanted to ask as I'm reading a bit on importing stuff; Did FedEx call you/email you when the mini PC arrived in India? What docs did you have to sign/provide? How quickly will I have to provide all the stuff that customs want? I'm kinda worried that customs will charge a ton for delay on my side (or shipping company side) so thats why I wanted to know. (all of this is hypothetical and I haven't purchased anything and won't be until atleast lockdown is over).
Thanks.

@JB700 Please don't use FedEx, they delayed my package for like 11+ days for no fault of mine. They have outsourced KYC processing to some other company and they really tested my patience. I did mention about it in an earlier post - Important - All international "Gift" packages now liable for customs duty @ 41.2% | Online Shopping

Anyway, as soon as your package is picked up from the origin, most carriers would start sending you messages/emails asking you to submit KYC docs (this is before it even reaches India) to expedite clearance. If you are getting it cleared with an IEC, you need to submit PAN, copy of IEC and probably a declaration as to why you do not have a GST IN (but I think this was necessary because of the clueless outsourced KYC team).

Based on my KYC ordeal, I would recommend that you make sure, your name and address in the shipment manifest are given exactly as in your PAN/IEC. If there is a company name field, make sure it has your name. So I would suggest giving the following in advance to the seller

Name: Same as in PAN and IEC
Company Name: Same as in PAN and IEC (for an individual this would be your name)
Address: Same as in IEC

All carriers have a KYC portal where you can upload documents that would then get reviewed and approved. If there are issues with the docs, they usually call you up or send an email, but you'd usually have ample time before the shipment reaches India. Since I was aware of the need to submit KYC docs, I had submitted the docs even before they notified me about it (but the whole process was delayed due to their crazy KYC team 😡)

In my case, as the clearance was delayed, they charged me warehouse charges of Rs 42 😡 But on the bright side for your specific query, it's only Rs 42 even if it gets delayed by 11 days for something on your side ;) Warehouse charges are collected by FedEx, I don't think customs people care when it gets cleared.

@C3PO Get Airtel. You won’t need a second ISP. Airtel has been down for less than a few hours in the last 10 or so years with them.

Govt got greedy in implementing 41% tax for commoners like us and now there is almost zero revenue because no one's ordering from US and China. This is the price they pay for greed and Kamra bites hard.

Tell the person to throw away the packaging (apart from polythene or protective material) and then he/she can bring it. They won't ask if it is not box packed but if they do you can say it is a used item.

Ordered some stuff from Alibaba through Aramex Shop and Ship. The seller shipped to Aramex's address in Shanghai and was received at Aramex Shanghai on Monday. However, it was updated in my account only yesterday due to my account id not being clear on the package (had to email them to tag it correctly)

Uploaded the invoice today and it's currently ready to be forwarded from China. Not sure how long it would take etc.

TBH this was just a sample order to see how the whole thing would work out and I was just curious, so not in any particular hurry or anything. 😅😅

With Shop and Ship, I've already shared my ID proof and IEC certificate which have been reviewed and approved, so no additional paper work is required other than the invoice (hopefully).

For each shipment, once it's tagged to your account, you need to upload the invoice, which gets reviewed and the hold on the shipment is removed once the invoice is approved by them.

SnS costs 10$ for the first half kg, and 8$ for every additional half kg. My package is about 0.8 kg so would be 18$ plus GST. And customs handling charge is only Rs 100 plus tax unlike FedEx which needs Rs 500 + tax. 😑

I've used Aramex in the past but never used shop and ship.
But I think it's not a good time to review courier services due to the current situation.
But my experience with Aramex has always been good compared to the useless FedEx.
