Check your airtel modem ip address.
Connect your pc directly to the modem with Lan cable and in the adapter setting configure a static IP.
For eg let you router gateway IP be 192.168.1.1
1.Open Lan adapter properties and set ip address in ipv4 as
192.168.1.1
Subnet mask as 255.255.255.0
Then save settings.
Now you will be able to access the modem configuration page.

Situation:

Currently:

Plan 300

Indian Servers/EU/Singapore servers - Perfect speed/perfect ping/perfect jitter

Issue - US servers - Very high jitter. Like 40 - 240 ms

Previously:

Plan Gigabit

Speedtest.net Indian servers - D350 U900 regardless of server
Fast.com D700ish U800ish
Speedtest.net.in D700ish U900ish

Issue in both plans:

Apple servers - Direct through Chrome - 2-6 MBps
Through IDM - Up to 40 MBps per download
When on Gigabit, if I downloaded multiple files through IDM parallel to each other, it would total 80-90 MBps
On Steam speed would vary A LOT. Max was around 70 MBps based on DNS I used. Often under 20 MBps.

On Gigabit Speedtest.net, no server got me D400. However U was mostly 900ish.

Tested via apps, websites, different browsers, different PCs all with SSDs, i7, i3 everything. Tried an iPad Pro 2018 with ethernet. Connected direct to modem to check again. No difference. Same issue.

Speed on Fast.com etc was initially not okay either. However, after multiple complaints Airtel fixed that so I would get D700ish there. Same with real IDM downloads. Speedtest.net was never okay though.

I thought I was the only one, I was having almost same issue as yours on the gigabit plan
Now I am on 200 Mbps but it's still not worth it
Google services randomly stop working or becomes extremely slow, many sites randomly stops working

I have to frequently switch to 4G to browse properly, or have to use Cloudfare's WARP+
