Many folk in my office have bought a MicroMax Q1 since it is a BB look alike, albeit without the camera. It has a pretty loud stereo speaker with support for 4GB micro SD. I used the phone a bit, the UI is slow, and the color support on the screen is limited, but the QWERT keypad is awesome. Really a breeze. The menus also seem pretty haphazardly put with options either being limited or oddly placed.

i wonder where this company is getting the money from. they are sponsoring the IIFA Awards this year and I heard that they paid Rs. 10 crores for the branding.

Not to forget paying Akshay Kumar. Well, it does seem to be paying off well for them - atleast to begin with. Of the three new brands vying for eye space during the IPL - Micromax, Maxx Mobile and Karbonn, Micromax has definitely got a headstart. Cheap phones loaded with features. Isn't that what the average Indian wants!

maxx has mahender singh dhoni advertising for them i believe. so they are loaded too. karbonn... i am not sure. it almost feels like that some shiekh in dubai has bought some factories in china and have launched all these brands as separate entities trying to capture the market away from ZTE. :P

One of my colleague bought the dual sim phone from Micromax and his phone is always not reachable ! He has thrown the phone after 3 months after the service center couldnt detect the problem.
