I am using 46inch Sony X series.
But X series is high end and not available in India yet.
I live in Qatar, the next version is W series.
Its full HD, Im watching Pehla ( a dth here in Qatar).
Quality is amazing, but in India my relatives also hve LCD and TS and Dish TV broadcast at a very low quality so the bigger the TV you get the more pixelated the images will be.
I recommend that you wait and see the quality of Big TV, some ppl say its is like True DVD, if thats true get your self a big LCD otherwise go for a 32 inch if you are going to use Dish TV or Tata Sky

Hey i think my uncle bought a new 'X' series 46 inch or something recently & seems he paid a lotta money, i only spoke to him on the phone. he wanted me to help me with setting it up with his comp as well.
Hhhmmm trying to recall if he said 'S' or 'X'

Ok cool,wat was the price of that 46 inch Sony X Series in Qatar?Becoz Sony lcds are damn costly in India.:dance:

around 13000qr which is about 1.5 lakhs
X series hasn't launched in India I am dead sure, becuase in India I only saw ads for the W series which is one series below. I would expect if X series had launched they would hve advertising it instead of W series.

even In qatar the sony lcds are expensive compared to USA.
We checked prices in USA and the same range was less than 1.5 lakhs.
Samsung LCDs are much cheaper but they are not made in Japan so we were not sure about them.

Got Big TV yesterday. Local cable wallah was not having Start Sports on Saturday and hence did not want any risks on Sunday..First impressions:Installation: Guys were very late and kept on moving the time. But the guys who finally came carried on with the installation until 9 in the night. Luckily, my cablewallah switched back to Star Sports. Hence did not miss the F1.Video: Was not impressed initially after the guys left. The I noticed they had used RCA cables and on switching to component, noticed a significant differenceAudio: My TV (Samsung 32" Series 4 LCD, ) does not have an optical input. Using, RCA, it sounded normal..STB and Remote: Having used atleast 3 providers in US previously, I thought the STB and software was designed poorely. The lag time was a bit too much for my liking.Verdict: Will carry on with Big TV for my bedroom until they have a better STB. Until then, I will probably keep my cable alive.BTW: I got the South 2190 package and the guys told me that it included all the channels (Including the top ups). I tried, and sure enough, all the channels were available for me.

Great :thumbsup::thumbsup:

So we can hope ads in news papers too.:dance:
Yes, it is in today's times of india; packages and pricing not given in the ad. Only initial and installation charges. "offers starting from Rs 1490 with 3 months free subscription and Rs. 1000 installation cost (in small print). Offer valid for non southern states."
