It is better to start a separate thread for important issues as it will be easier to search in future. LCD TVs will soon replace CRTs - flat or super flat.

well i am sure they will provide it ,but once they sort out the stb software problems.they will have to install a new software since the current software in the stb doesnt mention anything about DVR unlike the software prior to commercial launch which used to warns us about DATA loss in dvr just before manual reset of the STB.

haha how can you say that they don;t make them in Japan anymore, you're speaking as if you own Sony.
My TV box says made and assembled in japan.
While the W series was malaysia, and the W series was more than 35000RS cheaper than my X series, when converted into Rupees.
When he bought this we had the option of buying the W series, we actually went to buy the W series but since it wasn't made in japan we let it go. Plus the actual TV itself looks cheap, the plastic used looks like LG or something, while the X series looks Great in our opinion.
We looked at the X series and W series side by side. The X series has about 100 diff. settings while the W series barely has any in comparison.
about the Grey market, I do not know neither do I care I bought this from the actual Showroom, btw I don't live in India.

BTW i was just wondering why people 'NOT IN INDIA' would be subscribed to a Indian Broadband forum

Madhusudhan7, I too do not live in India but that does not mean we cannot post on this forum. As regards ur comment on timepass, I believe that is what we have to do when we cannot expect any kind of services from any of these broadband or DTH companies. Inefficiency is rampant everywhere and reading the postings on this forum tells you India is light years away not only from US but also other Asian countries when it comes to DTH and broadband technology.This forum adds a lot of value especially for NRI's who would like to come back to India and give them a heads start as to what to expect OR what not to expect!) I only hope the DTH and broadband companies are reading these postings so they know what kind of terrible custome support they are providing.

yes we get both the channels,i dont know about south starter pack i am in the default offer in employee offer.

You need to take South Max 4990 to get Neo Channels otherwise you have option to take 2190 Smart South Packa recharge 40Rs/Month for Neo Pack.
