it would be surprising indeed. but i guess Apple and aircel would be more interested in iPhone 4S to lower the prices of iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.

if they can bring the price of iPhone 4 to between 25-30K it would take away sales from Galaxy S2 and Sensation and other models in this price range.

and an iphone 3gs at around Rs. 12-15K would be a solid alternative to budget segment androids in india.

I wouldn't count on the 3GS becoming cheaper. You need to remember that Apple considers its products to be aspirational. In my opinion, the 3GS will still be sold at the 20K price point. The iPhone 4S will take the current prices of the iPhone 4 and higher (for the 64GB model). The new 8 GB iPhone 4 will Be pegged somewhere in between the two models at around 30K.

The 3GS is still a decent phone. It runs the latest iOS 5 firmware, although some features are missing. It's good to see Apple learned from the iPhone 3G problems with iOS 4 and ensured that iOS 5 didn't make the 3GS unusable.

I read Sushubh's post on prices......Even if iPhone 4 falls down to 25k, i still dont think its match to Galaxy s2 or Sensation, IN THE EYES OF NEUTRAL BUYERS. Coz i just checked on the net yesterday, SGS2 is available on few Internet stores for 27.3k. So i think in stores, even with bill, u cud get it for atleast a few hundreds lesser.Add another 2-2.5k to it & u get a mammoth with 48GB space in all.
