why not build a high end desktop? m1 16gb is coming to 1.7lakh and 8gb is 1.4lakh. pretty sure that you can get desktop in this price that will chewup anything you throw at it. if you are going for it because of portability then m1 is the best option.

if you are going to get a macbook then get the m1 version. apps that are optimized for m1 are in a different league.

Mac Mini M1 edition I believe is available in India. Would have been a great purchase if people were used to using desktops these days. If I could gotten used to Apple software, I would probably have gotten it over the MacBook.

Complacency got the worst of Intel, IMO. In a way, I am happy that Apple is pushing them to innovate further and release better and efficient processors.
But frankly, processor's just one part. All the hard work would be futile if the OS is crappy ( hello Windows).

They have pretty much lost one of their largest laptop clients. If Snapdragon can come up with something similar to the M1, then Windows based PC's will also start moving to an ARM based architecture.

Servers are their biggest cashcow for now with the Xeon lineup
