Apple MacBook Updates

i have listened to my conscience. i am not paying any more of my money to Apple. i have given them enough. :)

i am actually completely disgusted with branded computers. i plan to stick to desktops for as long as possible. painful. expensive. but working well for me. i actually wanted to invest in a mac mini... but just cannot give in to the devil.

mini is the worst computer Apple makes. No optical drive for those who need it. But to use mini as a home media server is a smart idea. Love it's minimal looks. It's like a mixed bag.

heh. air has no optical drive and if rumors are true, macbook pro could lose it in the next update. Apple went anti-floppy with the imac. they are now going anti-optical drive with the macbook. :)i like mini because it is a good desktop replacement. very compact. and now powerful enough. and i think it can run a single 27" display which is pretty awesome.

umm.. let's get real. The only time I have used optical drive of my MBP is to install Windows 7 through bootcamp. That's a grand 1 time use in last 11 months. But many people I know still have huge CD collections of Baba Hazam times. They could be in trouble. But the problem is this move will not bring down costs. Instead, you will be forced to buy external optical drive depending on your requirement.

haha. after i installed ubuntu using a pen drive on dad's netbook, i am actually in favor of killing optical drives. USBs are faster to use anyways. but yes, the problem remains with driver discs and of course legit games purchased from the market. USB drives are still expensive enough and is unlikely to replace CDs/DVDs with hardware.

Heard of BLU-Rays? they're not from that age

people buying movies on blu-ray would not be watching them on puny laptop displays. they would have projectors and large TVs. :)
