There's a practical limit up to which unlimited can be truly so, and if Reliance does not provide the option for speeds higher than 1mbps i think they are being very honest about the whole thing and pre-empting misuse at the same time.
my logic states that... 2 users with 1mbps connectivity would probably consumer more data than one user with 2mbps.and as mgcarley has already suggested... unlimited plans are bad for everyone. consumers are tempted to waste bandwidth. that results in implementation of FUPs which hurt everyone. having reasonable charges for bandwidth is the only way out. i mean... the next good plan reliance had was around 2600-2700... it had 8mbps till 60GB and then 1mbps. i was almost tempted to go for that plan. but decided against it. i mean why charge a mega premium for 8mbps connectivity (with just 60GB data transfer limits).
We have veered off in the area of individual user patterns here, any ISP would rather play it safe and base it's plans on the worst possible scenario. Unless it's someone like Mg who would go the distance and tune in to each customer's needs.
operamaniac - if you are only taking it for review purpose for only one month, then i suggest to start calling up the CC for cancellation* as soon as you gets connected! lol
hehe. that is something i do worry about. i would try to follow the procedure to get the connection disconnected properly. i did the same with an airtel connection i had disconnected a couple of years ago. i called in every month to see if there was any pending charges and if the connection was still enabled. only after 2-3 months did i get satisfied with it
