from my incomplete call from yesterday. the last message i got was that the connection showed as terminated at his end.
before he could tell me what i could do about the bill, airtel dropped the call.
i plan to try it again today. using my ancient tata indicom connection. cannot trust airtel anymore.

Was told... That I would get a confirmation call in the next three days and I am not supposed to pay this bill.
Let's hope so. It is hard enough to trust Airtel these days, I am dealing with Reliance here!
