I am considering getting a three star 1.8T unit from Daikin to replace my aging 2T Carrier AC.
I have just checked the prices online. I believe it would cost me in the range of 40-45K depending upon the source.
The 5 star model costs around 8-10K more.
Wanted an idea if it is worth it. Assuming it would last me at least 10 years, I would not mind paying a premium over Hitachi or other brands.

And I seem to have already misplaced the invoice. Looked everywhere. It's like magically disappeared. :o
Cooling is pretty darn awesome even in auto mode but then it's night time so it's not hot generally. Would be nice to see in the afternoon tomorrow.
I hope the retailer would not mind issuing me a copy of the invoice. I feel so stupid.
And funny enough... While looking for the missing invoice, I found a Google Check that I never deposited. Have filed for a reissue as well. lol.

My invoice too was lost during the installation of my split a/c. the dirt & debris from the drilling creates a mess.
They will reissue the invoice, no big deal, just a printout

Searched through everything. Just cannot find it. I mean seriously WTF. Yelled at my cook guy who cleaned up my room after the installation guy left. I have warned him so many times not to mess around in my room but he just would not listen. :langra:

Dont get pipe replaced now as it would require refilling of gas, imo not worth it.

Your gas wont leak incase of pipe change. What they do is they turn off the outlet from the ODU and keep the inlet on and turn on the AC. So this will send back all the gas to ODU.
Moreover you should first think of getting the lacquer quoting on your pipes and coil of the AC if you have some big open drain nearby.

I would suggest you to leave it asitis. Since it has a year warranty for the parts except compressor. If any issues it would be covered. You may go for amc later after a year with that 2k+ that you saved now ...

You can ask your local AC guy for it. They will open up your ODU and IDU to put up lacquer on the copper coil. The lacquer quoting becomes like glass quoating on the coil so that the sulphur particles which slowly corrodes the coil and which results to small holes eventually which leaks out the gas.
