wanting to take 2mbps unlimited plan in MUMBAI

OMG, You actually have Airtel Broadband coverage in Mumbai? Lucky you ;)

On the TRAI Data Sheet, it says "#Available only in select areas of Mumbai - Mahavir Nagar, Thakur Village, Thakur Complex, Mulund, Borivali (Sai Baba Nagar), Ghatkopar".

Rs1999 + ST (Freedom 1999 (Airtel/MM/FL/6)).

ALSO answer the following questions:

Most of these can be answered on the website...

uploads speeds in 2mbps?

There are reports of some users getting 512kbit/s, others getting 1Mbit/s.

download speeds in Kilobyte?

In theory up to 240-250.

are either UPLOAD or DOWNLOAD speeds fluctuating or stable?

Individual experiences vary.

any login dialogue or always-on internet?

I believe it's always on, connection established by the router.

can you connect a wifi router?

Yes. It would be most effective for you to buy an ADSL router with WiFi in it than use Airtel's one (or even take Airtels WiFi router option when you purchase the service), then you can certainly can do as I've replied in the last question.

does Fair Usage Policy apply of 30gbs cause the sales guy is saying it doesn't happen?

It says on the plan that it is 30GBytes of transfer at 2Mbit/s, then you are slowed down to 1Mbit/s.

mgcarley i know most of the things you answered but i wanted an anser from an AIRTEL MUMBAI userand yes AIRTEL have expanded their coverage area

I'm using a 512kbps plan in Mumbai and have not been upgraded to 1Mbps yet

what price and when did you take the connection?

are the current plans on AIRTEL MUMBAI site the upgraded plans or old?

How does an answer from me vs an Airtel user in Mumbai make a difference. Are you expecting that you'll find out that Airtel is lying about having an FUP?

In reality, only a user from your area could tell you what their user experience is like. Someone in Borivili might have a very different experience to someone in Worli.

not just about the FUP,everything else.how the experience is on airtel

Like I said. With these things it's always YMMV. Someone in one part of Mumbai might get Airtel awesomeness, and another person in another area might get nothing but trouble. Better to ask your neighbours or people in your neighbourhood.

Or just take the plunge.
