Airtel's CEO said that"..pricing on broadband is quite low in India relative to any other market in the world."

It is worth noting here that fixed-broadband has not seen any tariff hikes in years.

I can’t go back to 1mbps plans or something like that
God no please

Are yaar why can’t they scale there business instead of increasing prices

Correct me if I’m wrong here please

Even if there was one it will be small and insignificant. Airtel always matches their closest competition. Earlier it was ACT, now Jio. It may not be relevant but we could possibly see some plan updates when SEA-ME-WE 6 comes online in 2025, which has like 120 Tbps capacity. Jio also has something similar going on with IAX and IEX (200 Tbps capacity) which is expected to go online in 2025.

It is unlikely that plan prices will increase, we might see 40mbps plan moving out and minimum speed offered will be 100mbps and probably charge reduction in higher bandwidth plans along with some tweek in FUP

So 300mbps under 1000₹ isn’t too far now (iknow few local isp like hathway and excitel are offering 300mbps under 1000₹ )

But none from Airtel or jio
That would be interesting

@Crane Jio and Airtel have pan-India plans, while Hathway and Excitel have different plans in different cities. They mostly have great plans only in cities with high competition, so they can get more customers than Jio or Airtel.

I don't think Airtel and Jio will be following their footsteps. Broadband plans are already similar to what it costs in other countries. And besides that, people especially in small cities like mine are completely satisfied with 30-40Mbps plan.

@Zuke I see
I’m on 40mbps Airtel Airfiber
It very good but the only times i faced problem was downloading big files and the 1Tb limit

@Crane Hope they remove the limit or increase it to 3.3 TB.

I actually checked the accounts of a bunch of users of my local ISP and saw most of them using more than 1TB somehow, even at 50Mbps plan. So, at least it should be 3.3TB.

P. S. Yes, my local ISP is a privacy nightmare.
