Ricoh is probably the best deal in the market considering the official refill packs provided by the company. That's why I went for it. Linux compatibility is hard to confirm. Let me check if I have a Linux pen drive around here.
The only laser printer that I've personally seen working on an Ubuntu build was HP Laserjet 1020. It is a very old model and I'm not sure if it's available in the market right now. If Ricoh works that's would be a much vfm choice and easier to refill too.
