hello everybody,
i've been a beam tele customer since march,
2 mbps unlimited plan
in april, my bandwidth speed was throttled to 768 kbps after a download of approx 30 GB
this month, i've reached a download of 43 GB and now its throttled.
i wonder what exactly is the fair usage limit???

but mind you, i get 210 kbps speeds on torrent(with good seeders) and 200 on MU, but only 100-140 on RS and Mediafire.
well finally i would say, i am satisfied with beam, no disconnection since 2 months, good speeds at a cheap price.....

Speculation is that it's somewhere around 25GB, but I've not confirmed this for myself. There is a new thread at https://broadband.forum/beam-telecom-broadband/59429-beam-telecom-going-shit-stay-away/ which doesn't have such a positive review.

Beam Telecom is another new player in the broadband market in india.

he is one of the worst service provice in hyderabad. it really a fate for Hyderabad peoples, since he is not having minimum ethics. so requesting you peoples dont go this this kind of nonsence connenction, moreover it is not cheap with compare to standard brand band connections and also it is not safe to the systems.

Finally Market for retail FTTH - Fiber to the Home in INDIA is evolving.. thats a bit of great news.. as far as new ISP players in the retail FTTH, FTTB market somebody above quotes Beam telecom (a category B ISP licensee for AP region only), thats good but I would like to watch out for RAILWIRE from Railtel corporation of INDIA (a category A ISP licensee for all of INDIA), recently they have also made a modest begining by launching railwire 256KBPS up to 32MBPS ISP services options on copper / fiber in the last mile. RAILWIRE is currently available in some parts of Bangalore, with plans to go national. I am told they are tying up with LCO's - local cable TV operators for the last mile access subscriber acquisition on copper / fiber.

I do have an information posted in this forum about on one of the local cable operators - ANAND CABLE NET, Anandnagar, Hebbal, Bangalore having a tie up with railtel offerring this service.

Cheers.. great to note that in this new age economy the average common man consumer in INDIA is really driving the bandwidth market.. I really expect the big boys like Airtel, Reliance & BSNL to push this Retail FTTH market by wiring up all houses with fiber, who knows some day fiber plants will over take copper plants in a big way similar to what mobiles outnumbered wired landlines...!!

Cheers again..

As you might have noticed, MTNL and Airtel seem adament on DSL technologies, having moved as far as VDSL, I imagine, to captialize on their existing infrastructure (who can blame them).

Sadly, Railwire hasn't been expanding because they're having major problems trying to secure last-mile access. I've been in contact with their Western Region heads for about a year now, and they are very excited about Hayai (we're doing FTTP) :)

In a weird way, if they got last-mile things sorted, everywhere in India there would be one government ISP competing with another government ISP - them versus MTNL or BSNL.

Hello Admin (Sushubh? I'm first time here)
You might remember me right? I am Sriraj
Isn't that first post a copyright VIOLATION? Nice that it was removed accordingly, but you should have a control on your users posts.
This is a great forum no doubt, but such copyrights can surely defame it within days..
(You should have sent me an email regarding the change)

Depending on the content of the original post, it would very much come under fair use, and it appears that it was source attributed and merely quoted. They can't reasonably claim copyright violation, especially under Indian law. If they did, you'd totally have a Bette Midler case :D

Ouch, dude. They could at least have a more clear definition of these limits on their website.

I assume the speed drops down to the "old speed" otherwise it's hardly unlimited, it's not as bad a deal as it might otherwise seem - Airtel's Mumbai tariffs are currently 2Mbit/s for 30GB then afterwards 1Mbit/s @ Rs1999 (I would have to check Hyderabad).

actually some user copy pasted from some blog. then the blog owner posted that post here. i edited the content from the first post. added content from the actual site. and it was all well. fair use and copyright claims. i am not sure if it works like that in india.

Frankly speaking, Amidst all the beam cable bashing around, I am actually pretty satisfied with great pings and speeds with Beam. Its all good until something really goes wrong. In 2 months I have had no downtime at all. (Wait where's the wood? )

75GB on 4mbps (488KB/s) and 1 mbps after fair usage, is freakin awsome and best in india. Period.

Well, everyone here is also missing a pleasant secret with Beam. "The uploads are unlimited". 75GB of just downloads. I am sure its not same with other ISPs.

I didn't want to come up praising Beam, as more it gets praised, more people join and more it will suck.

Lets see how long my party lasts. I am sure, I am in for a reality check, once my connection goes down.

haha ..All is going well on my side too now with Beam ...Even with almost 10 days of downtime in a single month I was able to download 57GB ...
Now after they installed a new BOT on my building premise I am not facing single disconnection ..Touch wood..:)..Enjoying BT..:)
