Beware of 3rd Party sellers on Flipkart

I ordered a 2TB Seagate Hard Disk from techmantra(a seller on Flipkart), which had a Western digital label on its silver packaging. Over that the hard disk wasn't being detected. Please read my review

First of all, hats off to Flipkart for its fast delivery. But sadly there are some fraudulent dealers on Flipkart who like it sell fake products to customers. I received this hard disk in the silver tamper proof packaging just like a normal hard disk, but with a WESTERN DIGITAL label on it where as the Hard Disk is of Seagate. I wouldn't mind using it if the hard disk was working. But on top of all, the hard disk wasn't even being detected in the BIOS. Beware of 3rd party fraudsters on Flipkart people. Don't buy from anyone on Flipkart except W.S Retail which is the official selling party of Flipkart. Many fraudsters are selling on Flipkart who might sell you defective/fake products. So take my advice and don't buy from these fraudsters especially techmantra

seriously? you are saying that flipkart intentionally send empty courier packages to customers to loot them? have you considered the possibility that the courier company opened the package, emptied it out and resealed it with flipkart branded tape? i have received an empty package from superfan. some asshole at the indiapost on route must have emptied it out. i should have noticed that the superfan branded tap was not at the top but a regular blank tape had been used to seal the package. the company just asked for some photos. i had no photographic evidence that the package was empty at the time of opening as i did not shoot a video like above. the company still shipped me a replacement at no extra charge through another service provider.

recently, pepperfry sent me two packs of candles when the package should have had three. they refunded the money for the third pack without requiring any similar evidence.

good luck getting an empty box from an offline retailer and then getting a replacement from him after you notice that the box was empty when you open it at home.

ps. the problem with products disappearing on route is so much these days that the delivery guy for my vu tv was instructed to open the package in front of my eyes before i signed off on the delivery. i guess they should do it for all high value products prone to theft.

No, I'm not saying that Flipkart itself is looting customers. I'm saying that there are some 3rd party sellers on Flipkart who are cheating customers. For eg: Flipkart delivered a brick to a customer instead of a laptop. I received a nonfunctional Seagate 2 TB internal hard disk inside Western Digital labelled silver packaging which is almost impossible unless the package was tampered with or already used.

Fraud people are bad for e-commerce reputation, be it fraud delivery boys for shopping websites or fraud/bad drivers for cabs. These people are both strength and weakness of e-commerce companies as they heavily reply on them, but does not have any control on them.

The silver packaging even has a white label attached to it that says the hard disk is a WD 2 TB, whereas the actual Hard Disk is Seagate 2 TB. Just noticed that. Now 100 percent proved that they are even tampering with packaged items and selling it as "original". Here is link to my review btw-

Over that you never know, some of the staff in Flipkart and courier staff could be mixed

See for yourself the Flipkart Fraud. Hard Disk serial no. shows Warranty of Hard Disk was valid only till 2014
