I used to have BSNl connection for many years and faced almost zero downtime with it, even though it was not fast, 900 unlimited plan, I could download to over 50 GBS in a month with a 512 kbs.
Now I have shifted to a new complex, in shibrampur side of Behala, which is almost outside of Kolkata.
I have ordered BSNL connection but because the complex is not ready, the fibre wires have not been laid down yet and from last 5 months I am using Vodaphone 3G unlimited which is very expensive and due to my data usage I have to recharge twice a month.
I have no idea when will I get the BSNL connection.
I am a designer and have to upload download a lot of files, sometimes 1 GB per day.
Please suggest a fixed lan internet connection which can be used with a wifi modem (as with BSNL)
I have been searching, there is no beam in kolkata, only the vodaphone, airtel, tikona and local cable connections.
I used to have local cable net before bsnl and they are worse, because every rainy season lightning will fall on their dish ( at their side) and disrupt connection for many days, plus they send truckload of viruses. The reason I shifted to BSNL first place
So I have very limited choice.
I really liked tikonas 80 GB unlimited plan but also read they suck even worse in connection speed and customer care.
Airtel fixed line is much expensive compared to BSNL and Tikona but I am not sure they are good or not? Does it provide a cme wireless connection internet, because I am already using Airtel DTH, so maybe I will not have to install or depend on more cme or underground wires.
Major trouble is the complex guys have lots of restrictions, they do not allow to install ac compressors or any cme dish device on balcony or terrace.
Airtel DTH dish is installed on the roof and is common for the whole building.
Please suggest what should I do?
