Really thank you for your advice!i have seen bsnl offer, but the problem is that it is not unlimited, so it's not interesting for the way i'am using internet (webcam with my family really often), downloading french software....Home 128 from airtel seems to be more what i am searching for. is it really unlimited day and night?i think i need a phone line too for airtel? what about telephone price in india per month ? in france, it 1500 rs each 2 month + communications...

Ok, the new airtel tariff plans are here- http://airtel-broadband.com/tariff1.htm

but they are even more messed up than before. 256k 1000 Rs. 1.25 GB. wtf?

My advice- as soon as you come to blore, get a bsnl phone connection. And apply for bsnl dsl at the same time. That way in 2 weeks you'll get your dsl too.

And trust me, if you are used to 8mbit internet, then 128k is going to crawl.

Your best choice is bsnl 512k dsl- 1800 Rs. I'm going to be getting the same connection in a week. Until june 31st,2005 every bsnl plan is unlimited if you sign up before march 31st.

Landline Phone is cheap in India. Rental is between 200-1000 Rs per month(bsnl) and 500 rs(airtel). Get a mobile phone(your virgin or t-mobile gsm phone will work here) from france and just buy a sim card here. If you phone does have an option of an external antenna, get it or buy one in france itself. Difficult to find external antennas in India.

Thanks!is it really unlimited until june? can i change provider without extra taxes after june?i know the speed of a 128 kbps connection, but having more isnt interesting for me if i reach the download amount limit in 1 day...i think i m going to try bsnl if the offer is really unlimited until june!

What about spectraNEt?Unlimited, 256 kbs, 1299 rpsit seems really interesting!!!but their website is scaring me! What a ugly one! it mst be a small company?

i know 2 guys living in 2 diff locations in delhi on spectranet. both are happy.i know 15 guys living all over india on sify broadband. except for 2, everyone else is angry, pissed off, frustrated.i think smaller companies can give a better deal at personal support.

their site should have information! but since u are in bangalore, try getting airtel.
