need a net connection(will go for 512 Kbps unlimited plan) in trivandrum, kerala.Which ISP should i choose ---asianet, airtel or tata. Which among the three is the best??Also how many days do they take for installation??

AFAIK Airtel is still not available in Trivandrum. Their site shows just Kochi in coverage list. So you can choose from the other too. My personnel experience with Tata has been so far good. But heard a lot of complatints from Unlimited users and complaints seems to be more from Postpaid Users.

I am just uploading the Screen Shots that I have taken as a part of the speed test as well to conclude which ISP to choose in Trivandrum.
Please Surf through the ScreenShots.

My Personal Opinion:
AsiaNet Data Line Sucks Big time in trivandrum hope this would be the case all over KERALA. Freakish Customer care Response.
When i spoke with one of the senior Manager, what he told to me was this was his slang

" adl can give only this much speed we are sorry" if u have a better option go for it !

What I have understood, from that chat is he doesn't know how the data transfer takes place not even difference between kbps and mbps :hysterical:

TEST RESULTS

AsiaNet Data Line

For a 256kbps Line which ADl Offers, have a look at the speed, this speed is same for all the times.
Scheme - Night Bird 256kbps, Rs. 450 inc. Tax
Have taken the average too.

Kudos, Ashvin !

Well ,I use | |Asianet Unlimited 399 -64kbps ||, but comes to 448 a month including the taxes !

The main reason I chose Asianet was just because I had applied for a BSNL broadband and they said like I was on 90th position in the waiting list and I would have to wait for at least 3 months for the connection to be ready , and I wanted an unlimited connection which came around 500 monthly badly then !

To say ,about the my Asianet broadband connection , yeah it 's almost like an Unlimited Dial Up though ! , hehe :), I didn't have much problems with the speed and all , apart from the usual slow downs at peak hours. But one thing that drives me nuts about Asianet is the usual connection cut-off s ! I 'll have atleast 6-10 in a week and the when u call up the customer care u can be almost sure that ,u'll hear this " we 've registered your complaint , that's a cable fault !" ..errr... and that sux when you are hearing it for ,like the 10th time ?! and I 'm still confused why the hell are they having so much of cable faults in a week !

but my personal choice would be always the BSNL 500 plan, and I 've heard even the BSNL don't have these much of break downs as that Asianet .

Recently I 've heard Reliance is also a good choice .

Airtel is available in Trivandrum. Most of the cafes are now reverting to Airtel. I came to know of the Airtel presence in the city, through a nearby cafe. Yet they havent updated their site. This cafe which i mentioned has got a 512/512 plan.

First check what's actually available in your vicinity. you may find that there really isn't much choice..... Most don't have the last mile presence, so BSNL may be the only option...... Don't know what is Asianet's last mile, but if it is thru cable TV, then its likely to be highly unreliable - cables strung across trees like in most areas of bangalore....

Well this is my experience with TATA INDICOM prepaid use in TRIVANDRUM. Rs. 3641/

Im on "Quick Power 360" Scheme.

Scheme is like wise 2mbps Connection night 9.00pm to next day morning 9.00am free usage with unlimited download. so and so

What i get is like wise.

All the night the speed is limited to 506kbps....that is the maximum Download Bandwidth, it wont go beyond this limit. during the night time. You can see it clearly on the ScreenShots. No use with coustmercare because it is located in Hydrabad. Hope this wud Suck here in trivandrum.

IN MY OPINION too, i do prefer BSNL in trivandrum.

HEY GUYS...

TATA ppl in trivandrum, HAVE FIXED MY PROBLEM AND ISSUES THE NEXT DAY AFTER THIS POST IN BROAD BAND FORUM AND GAVE ME A SURETY ON THIS that there wont be any such issues from their side anymore .

HOPING THERE WONT BE ANY ISSUES LIKE THIS ANYMORE IN FUTURE... NOW I AM GETTING A FIXED AVERAGE OF ALMOST 85% OF BANDWIDTH WHAT THEY HAVE OFFERED... ! for a 2mbps connection. Seems that we have to give a trail run for Tata Indicom BroadBand in trivandrum beside BSNL.

I thank Mr. Anoop Rajapan (Tata - Trivandrum) for fixing this problem this much fast. :thumb:
