BSNL 3G data card TERACOM not detected by pc

3g GSM data cards suck at indoor coverage, as 3g gsm used 2100mhz band, its indoor signal strength drop a lot after 2km from the tower. better go for EVDO based cards, they are much better

..Is it NORMAL for LED to keep on blinking...once its get connected to internet??...


It should be normal because my card blinks too...
the three states I noticed are--
red, steady-powered but not connected to network
green, steady - card connected to cellphone network
green blinking - card connected to internet

okay.... Finally I found out... this data card can find one bar (little) signal once i get it to rooftop..so... m using this in rooftop... n gettng speed lil worse than GPRS... but SPeed test showed .13Mbpson tht data card software.. MAX speed reached 48KBps but doesnt exceed this???

hi...i use a teracom data card with my bsnl 3g....for some odd reason the download speed as displayed by the bsnl software is stuck at 48kbps....even though it connects at 3.6mbps and shows 3bar signal.....anyone with a similar problem????any solution>>>???

Dude.. me too facing the same problem... in my case browsing speed isnt so good
but downloading speed with IDM is ok ... as it gives on avg of 180 KBps and max touches around 260 KBps....

So that damn 48KBps is just a show ..it doesnt really affect 3G speed... its problem of teracom...
I once talked to their customer care and hav notified them about this problem.
they hav asked me to send all the detailed log of problem...
i advise u do the same.. with attachment of the snap shot of that 48Kbps window

Hi oldtimer I replaced my data card. Now this one detect my pc. BUT again misfortune stays with me. Most of the times it cant catch UMTS signal and content itself with GSM only. I even tried Manually forcing it to get UMTS (3G) network ... but no use. even if it catches signal... disappears quickly and modem LED (green) starts blinking.. I m pissed at BSNL now.. so much effort for bloody 1 - 2 KBps...


Can you please tell me how u replaced the data card. I have the similar problem... IS this card is coming with warranty?

yes binoy.. this card do comes with guarantee.. I just went to the bsnl exchange and submitted my old data card...they gave me a new one at tht instant..

Hello, I have bought BSSNL 3G usb data card device.Whenever I plug in the device it automatically install the drivers.When I click on the BSNL logo it it shows "No device". When I check in "My Computer->Manage->->Device Manager->Modems" teracom modem is shown with yellow exclamation mark as Unknown device. It prompts to reinstall drivers I double click on it.When I reinstall or update the driver , my computer suddenly shows "Blue screen error" and shows bad parameters.After which I need to manually restart the laptop. I have (Windows XP,Professional 2002, Pack3).This MODEM does not work on either of them and I have obsereved it works well only on Windows XP , Pack2.

It works for me in VIsta premium and win-7 ultimate with out any issues... but i faced this kind of issues during installing in vista... then i did a clean up of previously installed USB based drivers and then installed the BSNl first, that time it started working with out any problem, leter i am able to install all the drivers.
