Get a fresh 2G sim. Or get a brand new 3G sim.

my question is why wud they cap my speed to 128 kbps in the HLR.... ?? for what reasons.... i was Team Leader at Vodafone and have quite a good conception about HLR (home location register)... the HLR error may be possible... but whome to contact in BSNL ?? BSNL is so scattered and people are so not technically sound.... PS : i contacted BSNL and they said there is city wide slowdown in 3G speed in kolkata from saturday.... can some one confirm that???GOD i am feeling so cheated .....

Using 2G for accessing 3G will not be a good idea. BSNL is upgrading their system countrywide to rectify the flaw. Get a 3G sim after some days as you may face problem due to upgrade.

There are some good technically sound people in BSNL :P, this i've seen in my experiences. Anyways regarding your question on citywise slowdown -> yes its there all over india, but thats not the reason for 128 kpbs cap :) i guess people who activated your SIM might be thought you've activated 2G plan!
If you got 3G plan, then you can complain in nodal officer for your area and it will get rectified. First of all, confirm your plan details with them :)

i will meet the nodal officer directly... that would be better... only prob is that they are not considering MDMA stats as accurate.... can the cust care confirm whether i am on 3G or 2G ??btw what kind of cap is 128 kbps.... even EDGE is more than that.... and one more thing.... where can i find the nodal officer ?? in my sub exchange or in the main exchange ??? my sim was issued from my sub exchange....for users from kolkata .... where shud i go ??? Sim was issued at Jadavpur Exchange.... shud i go there or Ranikuthi Exchange ???

DumDum??? how will that help?? and its miles away from my area.....
