Hi,I need to setup my Netgear wireless router and need the following information, if someone could provide.I am on BSNL 250 basic broadband package in pune aundh area and got the username and password for the account. I can connect directly to the modem and go on internet but can't access the net throuh the wireless router. I need information for the following parameters, some off them are optional and I tried several times putting various info but couldn't get it working, Any help will be really appreciated : System Name : ???Domain Name : ???Service Type : ??? Encapsulation : ??? (available in the list is : Ethernet / PPP over Ethernet / PPTP ) WAN IP Address : ??? Shall I use "Get automatically from ISP" or put a specific one. DNS Server Address : ??? Shall I use "Get automatically from ISP" or put a specific one. Primary :??? Secondary : ??? Thanks in advance.SRavi

Type in SEARCH above in this page " Netgear wireless settings'about 100 old threads are available. Select your model.or type DG834G or your model number.

presuming that your modem is already in ppoe mode, you could use the wifi router as a wifi hub.. just connect a cable from the LAN port of modem to LAN port of router(not WAN).. and ensure dhcp is enabled in modem and disabled in router.. thats it..

Thanks Guys, Yes, I tried PPPoE as well. Also did a search as mentioned but couldn't find any links for my router model MR314. If you could send me the link it will be really helpful. Or please tell me the parameters required I will be able to do the setup. I was using the router for last few years but now moved to BSNL and had to reset the setting. The other thing I got vista on my laptop and I can't access the router setup pages (logs ok on the router with the admin account but give page not found when clicked on the setup menu), so everytime I try the setup I need to borrow my friends laptop with XP on it. Any ideas on this one. Thanks in advance,SRavi.

well basically you login to your router.. go to WAN.. then create a vpi/vci =0/35 .. and then set it to PPoE mode.. and enter your bsnl username and password.. save/reboot..

Netgear says this product "EOL"end of life.
FW Upgrade available/ listed. No more support.
Netgear MR314 Manuals, Support and Troubleshooting
Download manual quick start guide etc.
If you had told the router model in Post 1, search would have been made easy.
I just now typed "router model mr314" in Google and picked up the above link.
Always better to have the router's manual.( if quick start guide cd not available )
or try here

What @superprash2003 has posted applies to any modem/router.
VPI/VCI is the most important input for BSNL.
Post screen shot of Wan page if any difficulty.Type your user name without @ bsnl.in
enable DHCP range say 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.20 etc.
Still problem post ipconfig/all
start run type cmd type ipconfig/all.
