I am using openDNS and I am having similar problems. It is not a DNS problem. Many websites won't open. Some open, but very slowly. Some websites will be available only for a few hours a day, the rest of the time netwrok times out.Checked the SNR etc., nothing out of ordinary. This is some internal issue with BSNL and due to incompetence of BSNL workers we consumers are suffering as usual.

i had a similar problem , i found a temporary fix , go to the opendns dashboard , and under ADVANCED SETTINGS , uncheck " use proxy"

Well, broadband is working fine again. I didn't change any settings.Went to local exchange, officer there told me everyone was suffering (including BSNL officials) and the cause of problem was that MTNL workers had destroyed fibre optic cables as a 'protest'. The cables are now being repaired and connectivity issues are automatically getting resolved.

hello Firends, I am from Ajmer (Rajasthan) using BSNL Broadband, 500C plan with WIFI modem of TKD- 318 EW. I am having a strange prob. I am able to open most of the sites, but 2 sites which I surf.. indianrail.gov.in and vbforums.com , I am not able to open.. without any reason. though I have reset the modem. If I use any other type of net connection on the same pcs, I am able to open these sites. Pl. guide me in solving this prob. .. Thanks and regards

You can use the DNS as mentioned above. It is better than BSNL DNS. If you are particular about BSNL DNS, use the option " Obtain DNS Server address automatically ". It will automatically select the best DNS servers.
