I was using Beam cable 256 ul at 850 bucks per month.. connected both my systems using Linksys wifi router Just got my data1 connection 2day and i was:yahoo: I bought the type II modem WA3002-g1 ... i opted for Home 500 Thinking i wud rip the NU wid some heavy download and enjoy as i had read earlier on Our Forum ... connected both my Desktop (read XP sp2) and laptop (vista home premium) Connected the modem in bridge mode(momentarily as i am a lil skepticle about the client being always on in PPPOE) and installed pppoe client via Network wizzard both in XP and Vista and voila both my lappy and desktop were ina network. The speed at arround 3 PM was arround 136kbps and it went up to 500kbps and made me go  at arround 8 pm Was anxiously waiting to check the speed after 2 during the NU time ..... guess what it was pathetic i started to download all that i have Planned to download i was shocked i went berseck :wall:to see sdownload speed of 8kbps .. i immediately checked the speed of my connection and u all will be amazed by the result 90 odd kbps ..... should i change from h500 to an unlimited plan is the question that i am pondering at ..... :O well i think i should wait for a few more days and analyse the connection before i jump to conclusions Will Keep the forum posted on how my experience is with BSNL

my advice is:WAIT,WAIT... till something happens out of the blue..my experience was exactly the same in the first 4-5 days...i could download torrents only at about 15KB with a max. of about 40(with frequent disconnections) .. i called up a lineman, and he repaired some linefaults.. 2day morning queued a wwe torrent.. it downloaded at an average speed of 200KILOBYTES PER SECOND!!!!702 mb was completed in 75mins...and there were no disconnections during 2-8... so with bsnl,u never now.. wait and wait n...

Sure mate thanx for the response will deffinitely check for line faults

thats right. I have H500 plan and i have no problems with the speed(1.7mbps). Just check it there is any spyware or adware inur PC, and then Tweak ur connection using TCP optimizer SpeedGuide.net :: TCP Optimizer / Downloads
Thats it , no other misleading internet tweak necessary . :-)

Thanx mate will look into it will update u all later

BSNL is a bane. We need a company like Google to start offering Internet services in India.

If we compare with alternatives available BSNL Broadband is a Boon ,not a bane.
