BSNL Fiber Broadband new plans starting from 1 April 2024

In my case internet went down too along with phone, I think it was around the same time you mentioned. Something happened after midnight too but just with internet, no disconnection but things went slow or won't load. I had very less to no issue with the previous PPPoE server but this new server isn't stable or they are doing something at odd times.

BSNL has its unscheduled downtimes that's a cause for frustration if that's the only internet connection. I'd say BSNL is best as a backup line and if primary be prepared with 4G/5G hotspots. :)

Anyways, my plan has been changed to 100 Mbps now..I get about 110-111 Mbps on Speedtest i.e. that standard 10% extra offered by all ISPs.

It's not bad here, just occasional hiccups. DSL days were bad due to copper wires, line noise, downtime of half a day, complaints taking a day minimum to a week to resolve for even just a broken wire. Now it's much better and have phone hotspot for those times when I'm up but internet is down. One big advantage is dynamic public IPv4 addresses which is not available with most other ISPs.

BSNL has it's advantages for sure...if you can put up with dodgy customer support.

But then Airtel is no less. Trust me. Their support teams have deteriorated enormously since 2022.

@Chip Very minimal to no interaction with customer support. LCO takes care of anything tech related and forward anything beyond their scope to ISP.

@MEGAN No down or up issue. Just did a speedtest. Could be just limited to your region or just you. Ask LCO to verify.

@sloj the LCO is better than those babus in the BSNL office. But just may have gotten lucky. As all LCOs are not really so cooperative. :) He's responsible for all the connections.

My optical fibre RX signal power is about -16.xx dBm that's v good. Chap has done a good job overall so far. Leaving aside those irritating downtimes it performs as expected.

@Chip my LCO is not so co operative but when it comes to local fault he tries to resolve it quickly my Rx power is -13 but for any technical problem he has told me to contact bsnl he will only take the responsibility for the fiber line to my home that’s it don’t know how will I setup a new router if my current one gets broken after seeing all the horror post on this forum to get up and running a new router in place of the old one hope it never happens Syrotech is pretty good no problem till now 4th year running. My JTO is very good he is young and knowledgeable also very supportive it’s a plus point for me when ever local problem happens I just WhatsApp him he solves it quickly. So far it’s good.

My fibre connection turns 2 years old in June although the copper line connection is decades old.

Also, the LCO's scope ends where the OLTs start. That's the last mile connectivity 'boundary'. OLT management and upstream is BSNL's responsibilty.
