BSNL FTTH flyers sent by email to Bangalore Broadband Users

But they are forgetting the fact that they are providing the same plan under a different technology but with the same speed at 2/3rd or 1/2 the prices of this ftth.

+ a few other ISP's are giving similar plans for a even competitive price

I've recently got FTTH installed at my place. If you've got any queries, you can ask me.

you can do a sort of detailed review with pictures in a new thread, would clear a lot of doubts of many.

And yes personally i would request pics frm the dp box/olt to your house if possible. I would like to know whether they are wiring in the same haphazard way as copper.!

@devx101 sure, I'll do that. I live in an apartment, and bsnl's exchange is in the basement ( the parking lot ) . From there to the shaft of my building the cabling is underground ( its orange in color ) . It terminates into a Huawei box, from the huawei box a white colored cable, its got Aksh Optifibre written all over it, ( pretty thin ) comes upto my floor through the shaft , in to the wire ducts in my apartment, from the wire ducts, the cable terminates into a huawei / sterlite modem ( HG850a ) . The modem has a different ports for telephone and internet. I'll post pictures and stuff in a new thread in a day or two, a bit busy now.

@meetdilip

I am using a plan which is not mentioned on the website. I think its called FTTH startup 825 ( I've got a flyer on which the plans are written, and this plan is on that.) The promised speed is 512kbps and I am getting exactly that. (See speedtest be low) Ping times range from 33 ms to 99 ms ( better than my bsnl dsl connection - 50 ms to 150 ms ). Data is unlimited and no FUP.

Right now I feel, that those having dsl would find no reason to switch to ftth, unless bsnl comes up with some really compelling plans.

Nice info pal, i was also hoping to get a stable fiber based broadband connection with better ping times hence tried to apply for BSNL FTTH but sad they can't provide it as of now. Please post images etc, greatly appreciate your info here.

Nice. Many may fall for ping and may be better line condition.
