Brand name of phone is "Beetel". Yes phone have caller id. I will post copy of my bill here when it is generated.

Have paid the guy. He is not a LCO, but a Telecom infrastructure provider according to him. Said his staff will come and allot cable to me, so that I can get internal wiring done. Said they will splice the cable on the terrace and then take it to their nearest junction. Doesnt seem to understand the concept of signal noise, so I just let it be and see how it goes. Like a 3.5k bet. Said should be done in 4 days. Fingers crossed.

Signal loss due to splicing is minimal if done properly. Today Excitel LCO did final installation at my house and the splicing machine reported splice loss as 0 dBm. In other instances I've seen the loss as 0.1-0.2 dBm.

So it shouldn't have much of an effect. But it is good that the LCO is allocating the cable for you to do the internal wiring. How are you planning to do the wiring internally?

Maybe a bit too late for @partymonger. In my case the BSNL personnel himself told me LCO will charge 2k for installation. So maybe the price range can be confirmed from the BSNL office itself.

LCO is local 'partner' of kerala vision, so he already had cable installed everywhere in this locality. I choose a basic non wifi ONT. This was a year back.

Getting a 2inch hole drilled in the wall behind a table, to take the wire in via a pipe, and to where it needs to go, in a casing. The hole is big cause I'll be taking 2 cat6 cables each to other floors and tying it to the widows incase I need them in the future. And a couple in the parking for CCTV later by simply adding a switch. Will also leave 2 power cables (1 to floor above where I will immediately setup a wired AP with my second r7000.) Other for emergencies). This will get 2.5ghz to all the floors and 5ghz to the most used areas. Already got a D-Link 100mt cat6 cable box yesterday.

I also have a RPI4 NAS connected via two TP-Link unmanaged gigabit switches added in daisy chain, and another RPI4 & samsung ssd waiting to be added as backup/upload server. These switches provide wired ethernet to other wired desktops in the office.

Basically, the cable that will be used to setup AP immediately on the above floor, and the cable to the two switches, will go directly from my main r7000 router. Will need to make the necessary changes for that and remove the daisy chain to prevent extra bottle necks, though the main router could itself be a bottleneck.

But im sure I'll be able to get near gigabit speeds anywhere in the house that I need, since im the only power user lol. Just not drilling on other floors, cause we dont have stairs that reach high enough to close the hole from outside. Dont want water leaking into the walls. (building is tall but horizontally challenged 🤣)

Edit- My r7000 runs on custom firmware (advanced tomato) so i'm confident it will handle traffic easily. Thought I might shift to Asus Merlin or normal tomato build later. Just dont want to make too many changes at the same time as same network is used in office.

One thing that's bugging me tho, is Hotstar since im taking the 750 plan instead of the 900 super star. Figured I'll buy the hotstar premium for a year directly. As BSNL adds GST on top of the extra 150 it takes. And Im cancelling my GST registration.

Im assuming Amazon prime can be started again by giving same email id again?

@varkey This is a first bill.
Q1. what is this Rs529 Clip Charges (see 2nd pic) ?
Q2. Many people also have to pay one time Rs250 voice activation charge. So why it is not included in this bill but instead bsnl charged Rs529 as clip charge ?
