For consoles, DMZ is fine really. No security risk there even for novice users. It's just a console.

Manual port forwarding is not needed for DMZ. Plus it is CGNAT. Port forwarding will not work. DMZ for him will likely work since his ONT is already in bridge mode.

@Dark_Nate What i mean by not using port forwarding and upnp at the same time is that if UPnP is already enabled, you can't use port forwarding for the same device because upnp will already open the requested ports

A single client device can Utilise UPnP and manual ports simultaneously.

For example on my PC, I use Tribler + UPnP and Popcorn Time + Manual Port forwarding simultaneously. It works.

No problem. First, ask your ISP for removing you from CGNAT and still use dynamic IP. It's more secure. Nobody can DoS or Dox you easily with dynamic IP. Static IP requires more effort from your side to secure everything.

So , this is my Final setup

I have disabled port forwarding on the ONT.
I have disabled port forwarding on the Tenda Router.
I have enabled DMZ on the Tenda.

Will wait to speak to my ISP for a Static IP.
then will take the matter forward.

@Nitin Anything inside DMZ bypasses everything in front and in the router itself. He does not need to disable port forwarding. But for a clean and disciplined approach. Yes, he should clear all port forwarding rules and simply use DMZ for the console.

@stringer.6 ONT is in bridge mode. It's simply a media converter when it's in bridge mode. Routing functionality is disabled. You really don't need to do anything in the ONT.
For DMZ Host IP, make sure you assign static LAN IP to your PS4 then set that as Host IP. Viola. PS4 should have open nat now.
