My plan is capped at 87mbps lol 1277 one

You too? Are you pursuing it to get better speeds? If so, any progress/updates you can share here?

Any ETA about new plans?

Nah, I forgot to ask him properly, he was just saying it will come soon.

anyways, i have very little hope of getting my original speeds back, already the guy in BSNL main office said 70-80 mbps is "good enough" and they couldn't care less about it. only last remaining hope is if my LCO can do anything about it but even he said nobody else is complaining to him, it's only me.

still clueless whether it's a problem at my end (something like optical signal level or ONT/wiring/desktop issue) or something at either LCO/OLT end or these NIB/NOC people have capped something and forgotten to restore it.

@vishalrao for me as its at my parents home i dont know if they used to get 100mbps before lol , so rn for me i think bottleneck is ont , will get a better one when new plans arrive, asked exchange people for ont with gigabit port but getting reply " we dont have em in supply " maybe cuz they are going with lco model now (my connection was from exchange so using their ont).

Unnecessary Use of Quotes
He said couple of plans are "approved" - 1249 plan for 200 mbps 1.5 TB FUP and some other lower cost plan I didn't hear properly 40 mbps I think for 599 and it is "unlimited".
200Mbps Plans? I have a connection directly from BSNL exchange, (also same drop cable is connected to their BTS), still have loads of speed issues. Whenever asked they are like you are getting 60-70Mbps why do you want more. IDK which decade they live in.

I am going to switch to Airtel FTTH as soon as it launches. (Airtel has also rented the same BTS that BSNL uses). The 4G speed at 1:00 AM is around 80Mbps and during the day 20Mbps(on 4G).

I am facing same issue since I opted for ftth 1 week before. From start it was under 40mbps for 50mpbs plan. On wifi its even lesser. I am confused

Maybe ask your LCO if he has a proper split ratio or they have exceeded it . This can be checked by speedtesting at night times.

I don't know how you people end up having the most friendly lco's and bsnl employees.😂 This thread is just a dream for some of us.

Mine was a nightmare. LCO wasn't really involved except laying the cables, I bought the ont went to bsnl for configuring, bsnl engineer just straight up ignored anything I said or asked.

He setup the wifi and it's password even(He did asked what I would like for my password though 🤷‍♂️, so that's something). He didn't even give me the ONT's password (which I've bought) and didn't respond when I asked him about it, let alone pppoe credentials.
We weren't allowed inside the office, so had to beg and shout from the door and he never looks up.

He wrote something on the box finally after much shouting which was my phone number. Dumb me thought that was the password. It wasn't.

So I had to go back and had to ask an other female employee there who was nice enough to tell me the passwords he usually uses while setting up modems.

I have no clue how to approach them if my line ever shows issues. They don't like people learning about these and being technical with them.

Sorry about the rant, carry on 😅

@Adithya

Funny how i am from kerala and its more or less the same experience as you described, in my case lco hasn't laid fiber cable for over a month, i keep calling them and now they dodge my calls and recently even blocked me, i call the nearest bsnl office and the woman says she will speak with them and expedite it, everyone else at the bsnl office looks at me like this is the norm and i should really just wait it out, a month to lay the cable is perfectly fine in their books

if i had the option to use jio fiber in my shithole of a village i wouldn't even consider this whole lco nonsense with bsnl and keralavision
