Yeah, I partially tested and thought so too. Since I use DNS over TLS I assumed it was not working due to using third party DNS. Plain text DNS works.

Ideally it shouldn't work with any other DNS since it's private to the BSNL network. The IFTV server runs on a private address at port 80 and to reach it, the app has to know the address and external DNS won't have that information.
I haven't disabled ISP DNS advertisement on openwrt but unbound is the main DNS server. So, my best guess is it's able to reach that when I move to plain text DNS on the Android device only.
Also, MH now has two option BiTV/IFTV and Skypro on the registration site. I guess the other one is for OTTplay or PlayboxTV as seen on the X post.

So I got the PlayboxTV SMS yesterday (29th) too, very close to midnight, along with another SMS for Fancode. But it was on the number registered for FTTH which my mum uses. Nothing on my number which is BSNL too.
It seems like PlayboxTV might be a last minute addition to FTTH (which already has free OTTs on higher plans) along with IFTV and OTTplay might be for those who use BSNL SIMs.
