You can go to any CSC. they may tell you ask in local exchange. tell them that "they are not even heard of this technology". They themself will find. In my case, they have called up some people and enquired whether it is feasible and all.. anyways... all the best.. *me working at the moment (studying more thru diff forums ;) like this ) appus

But the initial cost is very high. Rs.7200! Is there any offical link to their tariff plans?

I think all the guys who used EVDO service haven't used it to the potential. My experience may shock all of u.

:yahoo:I am using the EVDO Broad band service for the past three months and i wish to share my experiences with all of you.

First thing is that, this service is great (no comparision with any other datacard).

It is really 2.4 MBps connection.

My speeds are as follows:

Normal downloads without any accelerator: Above 100 kBps
Max speed with torrents: 258 kBps
Max speed with D/L Accelerator: 249 kBps.

Max speed on EVDO Dialer: 2700 kbps.

All that at a cost of 700+ taxes per month (for unlimited)

Also i wish to comment on some previous posts.

There is no number association with this service. That is, no sim is installed at the back pannel.
Although EVDO Signal comes almost 24x7 but when it isn't there CDMA 1X service is there upto 200 kbps.

For any other query please post.

Note: kBps = Kilo Bytes/sec
kbps = Kilo bits/sec
Hi!
Can you please make the following tests using your EVDO card? The results help people trying to make a decision to buy the card.
1. A ping to "www.yahoo.com"
2. A tracert to "www.yahoo.com"
3. Do a speed test of the service and post that result.
4. Where in the country are you testing it from, city I mean?

Best regards,
Randy.

I believe rock_daring is in UP, where evdo has been launched. He had posted an image of the evdo connected screen which showed around 1850 kbps. Since the backbone for both this and Broadband is NIC, I think the above data will more or less be comparable to a the 2 Mbps plan on landline.

But yes, he's fortunate, EVDO has been launched in his place, while are eagerly awaiting the launch of it here in Bangalore.
