If you don't have a fixed BSNL BFONE
In dialup forum reported using the WLL phone. for Internet with datacard of BSNL. Check the unofficial website for more details.

03me019: See, if you dont have a BFONE (bsnl land line), getting broadband may take time. Contact nearest CSC (customer support center). In jayanagar, or anywhere in bangalore to know the availability in your area. If you want a Wireless data card, it costs around 400rs unlimited usage (speed is around 114kbps or slightly more). that is a usb device. Why dont you go to any CSC and ask for more help? 900 is the unlimited plan for bsnl broadband. so 900+ service tax may costs around 1000rs. please check the site as essbebe mentioned. My connection is (900+) Unlimited . 256kbps is the speed. Talk to the nearest exchange people atleast. regardsappus

I think all the guys who used EVDO service haven't used it to the potential. My experience may shock all of u. :yahoo:I am using the EVDO Broad band service for the past three months and i wish to share my experiences with all of you. First thing is that, this service is great (no comparision with any other datacard). It is really 2.4 MBps connection. My speeds are as follows: Normal downloads without any accelerator: Above 100 kBpsMax speed with torrents: 258 kBpsMax speed with D/L Accelerator: 249 kBps. Max speed on EVDO Dialer: 2700 kbps. All that at a cost of 700+ taxes per month (for unlimited) Also i wish to comment on some previous posts. There is no number association with this service. That is, no sim is installed at the back pannel.Although EVDO Signal comes almost 24x7 but when it isn't there CDMA 1X service is there upto 200 kbps. For any other query please post. Note: kBps = Kilo Bytes/sec kbps = Kilo bits/sec

So 2.4MBbs.. beats airtels/bsnl's 8Mbps Plan??? :hysterical:

Airtel is charging 20000Rs for 8Mbps line ie, 1MBps (1024KB/s)

Are you talking about the same USB/WLL service ???

totally confused.... is it better than ADSL ??? Oh My God !! Cant believe to that extend.. Are you used 'b' and 'B' at the proper place ?? or I may be wrong in understanding !! :wall:

I have used when i visited to my native. the USB device with an antenna. Brother told me that it costing around 400 odd in a month. unlimited. But i found the speed not that offering. I was connected at 144kbps. He told me he had connected at 256kbps when he gone to city (Near BSNL office)

Please udpate.

BSNL has decided to launch its Data Services on CDMA 2000 IX by using BSNL Internet Connect Card (ICC). The CDMA IX ICC will provide Internet Service @144kbps to computer users on their laptops as well as on desktops. This service will be available in all those locations wherever CDMA IX MSC based coverage is there. However, during roaming the said Internet connectivity will not work at present. The following two types of data Cards will be available for BSNL customers:
(A) Network Interface Card (NIC) : For internet speed up to 144 Kbps.
(B) EVDO Card : Internet speed up to 2.4 Mbps

Unlimited Internet - Best Tariff Ever

I have used b/B correctly. 258 kBps = 258 * 8 = 2064 kbps

I wish to also mention one thing that i think the service u have used at ur native place 1X service. For a proof check the dialer top part. If ur conected to the EVDO service it will show "EVDO" not "1X".

Please find the dialer image here

CDMA and EVDO are two different technologies. Although both are wireless and runs on WLL services.

Thus, it is not required.
