I used waveform website and got a B grade and got "Your latency increased moderately under load."
I have a fairly good router(TP-LinkArcher C6 MU-MUMO). Should I get a new router or ask bsnk to change their box? It was fine a few months ago, i dont know what changed.
You can see if your c6 version supports openwrt and use fq_codel to work on bufferbloat.
I'll point out again that if a specific server has high latency all the time even when you're the only user and there is no download/upload in background then this is a routing issue.
1. There is no way to fix a routing issue at customer end. Only BSNL can fix their routing.
2. You can fix bufferbloat issues by using custom firmware but Idk how effective openwrt fq_codel/SQM will be on archer c6. Its a budget router afterall.
Do ask others for more insights on openwrt with a new post as I haven't used it.
The best thing is to disconnect BSNL and try other ISP connection. They won't resolve any routing related issues.
They are having high latency in some of their IP Series (MTNL).
The C6 is a good budget router you can install the Openwrt and manage the bufferbloat upto 60-80Mbps.
If your connection is more than 100Mbps you need a good performance router.
