At my place I was getting unlimited 2G @ 95 from Idea which was 2GB in other states. Today a single GB costs roughly 150-170 on same 2G and all this to foot the bill paid towards the 3G spectrum and the recently auctioned unified licenses. Auction process has its own plus and minus and those scarce natural resources which can be of benefit of the common public should be handled with better policy rather than being turned into a money milking cow for the government.
Surely government will get the money from the auction and the telco will take the money spent away from my pocket in one way or another. But is the government investing the lakh crores money earned back into the telecom sector. The National Optical Fibre Project is estimated to cost 20000 crores thats just a part of money made from these auctions. Just my 2 cents.
