I am new to this forum and just recently bought airtel 2 mbps connection however after doing speestest i really dont understand the mentioned below stats..

Can anyoone explain why is the upload speed so less and what impact it makes on my browsing or downloading?

hey guys , its a problem with ADSL connections .. the DOWNLOAD speed is always MORE than the UPLOAD speed .. there is nothing to worry about, nor is there a problem with yr connection .. its because of the architecture used in ADSL connections .. so just chillax

The modem/s supplied by AIRTEL so far Beetel series
are marked 110BX1 ( latest given to me ) ADSL2+MODEM. etc.
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) is a form of DSL, a data communications technology that enables faster data transmission over copper telephone lines than a conventional voiceband modem can provide. It does this by utilizing frequencies that are not used by a voice telephone call. A splitter - or microfilter - allows a single telephone connection to be used for both ADSL service and voice calls at the same time. Because phone lines vary in quality and were not originally engineered with DSL in mind, it can generally only be used over short distances, typically less than 4km[1].

Anyways as such there is nothing like DSL. Its always what is called as xDSL, x substituted by A (Asynchronous), S(Synchronous) or V(Very high bit rate), etc..

airtel advertises it as DSL BB and BSNL adverties its BB as ADSL...i dont think calling dis is wrong....@essbebe ...modem hardware is same
