Can I used BSNL UTSTarcom WA3002G4 ADSL Modem as Access point or Repeater for expanding range of signal of my root router in house as I have set up my BSNL Router on first floor. I got weak signal from UTSTarcom WA3002G4 ADSL Modem in summer many times. I think about to purchase new BSNL Router from BSNL Customer care. Is it possible to use my old BSNL router (UTSTarcom WA3002G4) as access point or repeater with other router provided by BSNL. I have read about 802.11n router on Website. Does BSNL provide any router based on 802.11n to latest customer? If I purchase 802.11n router from market or BSNL, does it will improve signal range in my house. I have now 802.11g wifi card in my two computers. But Router provided by BSNL broadband is based on 802.11b. So, I want to upgrade my network to 802.11g or 802.11n. Can you suggest me latest Wi-Fi router which are provided by BSNL Now. Please helpSukhdev.

You can use it as an Access Point but not as a repeater. Also if you are planning for an additional device why going to BSNL. You can buy from the market a repeater.

I live in medium town so that there is no good Wi Fi Networking experts in my city. Second thing, I had already bought one D-Link AdSL 2 + Router too in 2007. But it showed much error while accessing to BSNL Broadband. First thing that it broke up internet connection easily for small electric flection in my room. Second thing, it required lot of change in D-Link's Router Setting. After making change in ip address or installing driver for it, I can not access to my small peer to peer networking of my two or three personal computer easily. Therefore I prefare BSNL's router. If BSNL Customer Care do not provide me any router based on 802.11n or 802.11g. Then I think of purchasing Belkin 300 mgbs 802.11n or Enter Router + Access point 802.11n. As there is just two these router available in my town market with 802.11n technology. Is any company have lunched Wi Fi or Wireless Lan Adapter too for Desktop Computer with 802.11n range. I have seen just Wi Fi Card with 802.11g range only in my city.

What is technical difference between Access point or Repeater? If I make UTSTarcom WA3002G4 ADSL Modem as Access point for my new Wi Fi Router. Does it will improve signal range in my house in comparison of just one Wi-Fi Router? What is benefit of repeater over access point in improving signal? I have also heard about 3G BSNL Card which have unlimited data access at rate of Rs 750/- per month. I can purchase 3G BSNL Card at rate of Rs 2500/- for initial cost. But I do not want to pay more than Rs 750/- for broadband to 3G BSNL Card. Will I have paid any buck to BSNL other than Rs 750/- per month for internet access for BSNL 3G Card?

Access point :
WA3002-G4 will give you wifi access within say 20 feet radius.
Connect a rj45 cable(maximum length 100 meters) from Lan 1 to your new WIFI router in a new area ( say 3rd floor) and increase the range.

REPEATER mode :
Both above should connect in wifi mode without any cable connection.
Facility not available.
