Can someone explain Optics Module Status? Is mine good or bad?

Just add something,there is no fixed bandwidth for fiber as of now.
We have limited ability to turn off and on the laser diodes.Thus we can send limited bits only.
It's fixed bandwidth but not everyone use maximum bandwidth all the time.

That 2.4Gbps will be shared among many people. The ISP doesn't expect everyone to use their full bandwidth all the time. So for example a 2.4Gbps link will be shared among 20 people on Gigabit plan.

This is why speeds sometimes drop during evening and night time. When more people are using the network.

Oh i see, so whats the typical contention ratio used by providers here ? I googled about it and found something funny

Okay back to question. So the contention ratio has to very low for gigabit lines to work right.. Lets say if they use same fiber for 18 users with gigabit plans and all of them are using it to max like torrent downloads or uploads, then its going to make a signficant impact..

or 30 300mbps using connection simultaenously downloading from torrent.. Its all edge cases but yeah still especially the case of gigabit lines

BSNL and bigger ISPs are usually more strict in maintaining a stricter contention ratio. So, you likely won't encounter last mile congestion issues on these ISPs.

As for local ISPs, even most of these achieve the advertised speeds until their own servers and peered services. Its usually international speeds that they struggle with.

Most of the users of an ISP are on the cheapest plans. So even if there is one Gigabit user on shared fiber in the last mile, it likely won't be a problem.
