Cannot access other sites apart from bsnl one

Hi,
I got the BSNL connection last week. The modem is of Type I of UTStarcom. Model no something like UT300RU...

The BSNL person connected the modem to my desktop running Win2000 in PPPoE connection. It work and everything was fine. Then I went to \\bbservice.bsnl.in and changed the password. After that I was unable to connect then I changed the password in \\192.168.1.1 and then done diagonsis and found everything as PASS.

The indicators of the modem are all lighted and steady.
ie. POWER, DSL, INTERNET and ETHERNET.

I am able to connect to dataone site and \\bbservice.bsnl.in site. but apart from these few sites I am not able to connect to outside sites. Please help me to know whats wrong.

I had done the compliant at customer care 6 days before but no reply. So if any know whats the problem please help.

Start/ RUN type cmd type ipconfig/allPost details here. Presume you are using dialer to connect. confirm.Anyway try to restore original UserID password in \\bbservice.bsnl.in. and in the modem. Keep 14 digit portal ID and password as "password" do not change.

also type ping google.com or ping 72.14.207.99 in your command prompt and post output

Finally I got help from customer care and internet is up.

Things done were.

After changing password in \\192.168.1.1 and after saving and rebooting. The username was set to default 'multiplay' and default password. So through this I could not connect to the outside sites.

so the suggestion was to

Reset the modem/router .... since after trying twice it still changed login to 'multiplay'.

then the first entry from the WAN setting was deleted.

And again the new connection was made in PPPoE and login password were entered.

Now the setting got saved after rebooting and internet up.
